SUMMARY: QNAP was onto my problem just hours after I filed the support request. Personally I think it would be much better if we were able to record using "viewer accounts" rather than "admin accounts", since the user credentials seem to be passed over unsecured HTTP to the camera each time we connect. Hopefully we'll see a fix for this problem in a future firmware. QNAPZoe also told me that the QNAP test team would be looking into this. It can be any username (it doesn't have to be the user named "admin" since I tried with user named "cameraadm") as long as it is a user with administrator privileges. Live view and other stuff works fine even with less potent users though 2) As long as the user specified in camera settings in QNAP SS is an admin on the camera, recording works fine. QNAPZoe was very service minded and we finally understood that: 1) Recording is only possible when specifying a cam admin (default admin/admin) in the camera settings. We finally decided to take a support session today. In fact, I was being stalling them due to Christmas and everything. They wanted to connect to my computer and NAS ASAP. I started a support case on and got a very quick reply (within a day).
Linksys Wvc54gc Firmware pro#
= TS-209 Pro Current firmware version: 2.1.2 Build 1113T Tomato USB This fork adds built-in support for USB port, wireless-N mode support, support for several newer router models, and various enhancements. Always, Test and Live View work, but recording always fails with "Failed to connect Camera 1". Tomato is a small, lean and simple replacement firmware for Linksys WRT54G/GL/GS, Buffalo WHR-G54S/WHR-HP-G54 and other Broadcom-based routers. QNAP, please prove me wrong! I tried everything from putting the cam on the local network with allow all users to connect to putting it behind a NAT firewall (forwarding the HTTP and RTSP ports to the cam) and allowing only specific users to connect. The fact that it is useless isn't stated anywhere though. I then immediatelý go back to the live view or settings tab and successfully view the camera It seems that the survaillence station on TS-xxx is just something QNAP threw in to make more mumbo jumbo words in the product sheet. Each time I modify the recording schedule and click Apply, I get an error in the Log saying "Error Failed to connect Camera 1. Not in continuous recording, neither in motion detection recording. Can successfully view the Live View tab But, and this is a big BUT that makes it all worthless to me, I cannot make the surveillance station record anything from the camera. Can successfully test the connection to the camera under Settings. I on the other hand bought a WVC54GCA-EU and tried it.
